“Looking back on it 5 years from now..”
Looking back I’m proud of the concept in this and what I was able to get across at the time.
I was digging through a lot of music near the end of 2018 to find a new direction.. I had been in a creative rut from a year of pushing Cat Heaven with very little time to make new music. My friend Edgar started coming over after I moved into a new apartment just to kick new ideas around..those were the first few songs I had made all year that felt right. Soon after on a short tour stop in NY I ended up doing a session with these guys Al & Alex and made a song so special I immediately knew I had to make the album with them. So I got on a plane with Edgar on New Year’s Day 2019 and all four of us spent two weeks working on brand new material. Every song was made in a day and it was undeniably the best music I had made. Some of those songs ended up on Graffiti, others on the album.
It’s been amazing seeing how excited everyone is about this, even after all this time. Thank you for always caring and listening to me – it means the world.

I still really love this album.
Honesty and emotion overtake drawbacks in other places.
What’s funny is I don’t really think I got anywhere close to the aesthetic I originally sought out to capture. Going in I had MBV, Jeff Buckley and The Cure on repeat. I don’t think there was any chance I was ever gonna get close to that loll.
But in the end I made an album that means a lot to a relatively decent amount of people.
One night I was coming home from Eddie’s apartment after we had worked until 5 am. It was blue hour and I looked outside of the car on the freeway and how the palm trees looked against the blue was a very specific feeling. When I got back to my apartment I felt so euphoric from how good the sessions had been going I went on the roof at 6 and laid down listening to vans and lucky and as the blue got lighter I sat there and thought wow this is pretty good.
A million thank yous to Cat Heaven and everyone who listened for changing my life.
You can check out a list of films that inspired me while I was making it here.

Hi!
This website is a project of mine that I’ve worked on now for almost 3 years with a team of very talented people. It began with the concept of having a place where we can meet – wanting to share more of myself but not wanting to always exist in an endless sea of information. I’m sorry I’ve gone over a year now without any proper update on the album.. No, I didn’t quit music for a DJ career lol. Funny enough getting into DJing and doing these sets helped me fall back in love with making music again. I think I forgot that performing for people and sharing the experience with fans and people who truly care about music plays a huge part in why I love doing this. So thank you if you came to one over the past year – It means more than you know.
Instead of telling you a long winded story about why it’s taken so long and how the album is finished and yes, it will be coming out next year, right now let’s just wait for that moment to come whenever it does. I learned the hard way that announcing something before finishing it isn’t exactly the best way to communicate going forward. I only ask for a bit more patience – And in return I’ll give you my best.
I truly hope you are all doing well. Hopefully you like this site as much as I do! I’ll be posting a lot more regularly on here until the album is yours.
Until Then..
Roy
